Listed below are a group of URL s that include a wide variety of chess tournaments (both adult and scholastic or both) in the VA-DC-MD area (Baltimore – Richmond) and National too. Playing in an average minimum of 1-2 tournaments per month, will usually keep a scholastic players’ skill growing.
Choosing the right tournament is key in a chess players skill growth and these choices can have serious consequences, both positive and negative. Feel free to contact me regarding tournament choices for your student(s).

Before playing in a rated tournament, the student must become a member of the U.S. Chess Federation. This can be done here.
